surrounded by family

 My beautiful sister-in-law (I have three, by the way!) Sara threw us a baby shower for Adam's family this weekend.  How wonderful it is to be surrounded by family. 

Between sisters, aunts, cousins, mother, mother-in-law and grandma, there were lots of opinions about baby things.  Breastfeeding.  Products.  Development.  The size of my belly...  And there was lots of laughter.  We had a great time and these women showered us with all kinds of things for our little boy. 

Here we are ... at 34 weeks ... and very excited!

 

one year

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any power, neither height or depth, nor anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is how I'm getting through today.

Daisy and I took a long, cold walk.  I listed to Christy Nockels really loud in my headphones.  Right now she's plugged in and playing softly all over the house.

I hate today.  I hate the memories.

I will surround myself with family and we will go together to visit Blake's grave site.  

I wish he was going to be there.

33 weeks

Just a little update on baby Luke. I got to see him on ultrasound on Tuesday and he's the cutest thing in the whole world! He's about 4.25 pounds, is clocking in right about the 40th percentile for size, and still has his hands over his face! But we were able to see a little bit and he was smacking his lips, kicking his feet, and wiggling his arms and legs all over the place!

Everything is going according to schedule and I can't wait to meet our little peanut!

I'm feeling pretty good. My feet have started to swell and that's a bit annoying. But I still love feeling him move around inside of me, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to carry this child. We are in full nesting mode around here - putting the nursery together, cleaning out closets, and making room for the newest member of our family.

Just under 7 weeks 'til due date! :)

Once upon a time there was the sweetest friend in the world.


She loved me so much that she came all the way to Houston to give me a baby shower. I got to babysit this adorable creature ...

did some decorating ...

So that we could do some mingling ...

And some eating ...

And have some girl time ...

And open some wonderful presents!

I am so thankful ... and so blessed!
